if not then where do u find your socket armor/weps mostly?|||You can begin finding them from the very start. I play an Amazon Bow Class and I begin looking for socketed Hunter's Bows from character creation. Finding them in the "field" is tricky, early on, but possible. Every time I come back to town I check with Charsi and Gheed until they have a Hunter's Bow with at least 3 sockets (Chipped Sappire, Chipped Emerald and Chipped Ruby). Then, I begin hunting one for my Rogue Hireling. The same is true for Armor. Keep your eyes open for decent Jewels. You probably won't start finding Runes until you've confronted the Countess in the Forgotten Tower.|||should have been more specific, i mean along the lines of 3-4 soc armor and 4-6 socket polearms/zerk axes|||Finding the best socketed stuff is very rare, but you can increase your chances of normal stuff dropping (thereby increasing your chances of gray items dropping) by decreasing your Magic Find to zero. I walk Chaos Sanctuary, Worldstone Keep and Cows in Hell, and pretty much everything drops eventually. The real problem is when you are looking for something specific it doesn't "seem" to drop. That's why I keep everything when I find it so I don't have that problem later on when I want to use it.
Also, keep in mind that you can often find plain whites that will do the job. If you're looking for max sockets, you are (generally speaking) able to take the white version to Larzuk and get what you want. If you are looking for less than max sockets, sometimes you can even get Larzuk to do that by finding a low quality item of the desired type and "fixing" it using the Cube recipe, thereby setting its item level to 1, which reduces its max sockets that Larzuk will punch in it. So that Cracked Archon Plate you complained about? That was a 3os normal AP, after a visit to the Cube and Larzuk.
Finally, there is always the chance roll you can take on a plain white one to get the number of sockets you desire using the sockets cube recipes. I found an eth War Spike I wanted to make Oath in early this ladder (they are rare things indeed), and my only choice was the cube recipe. I got very lucky and got 4 sockets. But it would have been usable with 5 or 6, even still, although not by me for what I wanted.
|||Regarding where to look if it's just socketables you're after, hell cows mostly, preferably with 0 MF equipped. Most base items can drop there, tons of regular mobs likely to drop white/grey crap. Level 85 areas can work fine too, again preferably with 0 MF.
As mentioned by the previous poster some creative cube work can sometimes speed up finding what you're looking for.|||
Q u o t e:
is there any specific place that has a higher chance to drop socketed armor/weapons?
if not then where do u find your socket armor/weps mostly?
Like others have said, you can minimize your Better Chance of Getting Magic Item percentage. You can also check the NPCs' shops. Most of the smiths in towns will have a high chance to sell you a socketed item.
