Non-accidental disconnections?!!

For the past few days I have been magic finding on ladder, I usually never find anything decent until one day, a high rune dropped! I picked it up and stashed it quickly. Several seconds later, off to kill another act boss, only to find that the game stalled for a second and then disconnected me. Yes, my character rolled back. Yes, I lost the high rune! This didn't happen once, but twice already. It is wrong to legitimately self-find items anymore?!!!
