I for one liked trying to complete all difficulties solo. So classes hell was/is next to impossible without rw's or help. Immunities among other things make it a challenge. Curious, how many time have any here solo'd the whole game with crap gear and no help this patch?
It's called my Summoner Necromancer.|||

ROFL!!!!!! Have you seen some of the trade games lately? Since patch bnet has gone retarded. I saw a guy today claiming only jah, ber and Lo were high runes. Hmmmmmm, last time I checked everything Mal up was(or at least Ist). The change in rune drops has impacted trade values dramatically.
This is why I don't bother trading. It's an exhausting mess most of the time. I've seen people make similar claims about runes and other items. It's just absurd. I don't even think about trade values when I consider the rarity of an item.

Personally, I liked much of what was there. So what if a melee char couldn't do chaos big whoop. The one thing "fixed" since patch is stacked auradins. Far worse imo that IM or dolls will ever be. Stack ur char hostile walk out insta slaughter LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Glad it's gone.
I don't bother with PvP either. (I play HC) But I am also glad this exploit is gone. I usually keep PvM issues, and PvP issues completely separate but I suppose I would agree that aura-stacking was a more important fix since it was not supposed to be there in the first place. Iron Maiden worked just as intended, it was just a HUGE pain in the ass :-P

Yes, many times. Twice in this patch with my Javazon, and my summon necro, without dying.|||

I have. Started with a sorc, player her to Matriarch without joining a single public game, playing with any friends, or trading for or buying a single item, wearing only the best of what she found. Using her, this ladder, because of the new drop rates, I have found runes that I have never even seen before in the 5 solid years of playing the game regularly. In order found they are: Lo (WSK2), Zod (Hell Diablo), and Ohm (Moo-Moo Farm). I agree completely with Flcl115 that the rune drop increases are a Good Thing (TM). They make legitimately possible what before was almost impossible.
I now have a second toon that I have never been able to have: a well-equipped paladin for taking on the Clone and UT. Using the self-found runes this ladder, and being loaned a Vex by a realm friend, my Zealot has a ethereal BotD Berserker Axe and Fortitude Archon Plate, which were formerly impossible to obtain on one's own or with guaranteed legitimacy.
Respeccing is excellent. The rune color change is excellent. The game is improved by the changes. Your saying the game has been sissified is nonsense. You tell me if I'm wrong and if you believe that none of those things were "impossible"
Good job, Blizz!
LOL
|||This server strain caused by bots is by and large a direct result of the multitude of spam bots. Whereas the other bots running should be gone as well, they have a lesser impact. Think for a sec a spammer pops in fills your screen and moves on doing this many times and hour. Hell in the same game I have seen the same spambot 3 or more times in less than 20 mins. That is where the server loading comes from. Most now are using proxy servers so you can't even squelch them. Those proxy servers need to be patched as well.
To me if they keep taking out things like dolls(likely next to go) They game loses some of it's inherent challenges.Tell me why did it take only 10 years for IM to get removed? Part of the game since day one, it was there I dealt with it. We all dealt with it. Synergies have been changed to improve certain classes dmg. Why? People doing PvP found they weren't skilled enough to use them and QQ'd to blizz to fix this. Perhaps Blizz should remove the synergies ala 1.08. Everytime they try and balance the game it tips the scales and gives a type of char an advantage. Part of the skill involved is learning a chars strength's and weaknesses and working within those. Not getting Blizz to alter the game to make playing a specific char type easier.|||When I first played this game, I played classic. I used a WW barb first and thought it was amazing.
Then I was shown Chaos runs and I did the classic: "WW-dead". "wtf?" sc*@##d body, then: "WW-dead".
My friend called me a n00b and told me to use the skill properly. So I did, and I stopped dieing.
(I realise there are other classes with their own issues, but this is a solitary experience I am explaining)
Removing a multi-leveled skill like IM because it's too strong is like removing someones tonsils because they get infected.
Thats what we did for years, but then doctos got wiser.
What I dont get is why weren't blizzard wise with IM? Why not reduce the IM level or the frequency of the cast?
Surely tweaking it is better than removing it?
Either way, working as a team/the right merc is what the game is about. I even did chaos runs in HC - but I did them slowly, carefully, and with tactics.
Infact now that the TPPK issue has allegedly gone, people have no reason not to play in teams.
As for legitimacy, I dont see the benefit: now we can drop good runes, ok I get that, but we wont drop all that we need - so we still need certain runes for things and we are not that likely to drop them. I looked at Last wish today and laughed. I'm using heavens light til I can afford Grief (not far off) and last wish will never happen.
people have indicated how insane trading is.
The trading sites are still there, and the economy is too. so are the spammers, but now they are offering "x free runes with every order" lol!
Sorry, but I dont see how this is a "win". all I see is a slight difference, but the same negative points, bar one that is now substituted with mindless melee in all area's.|||I have always liked the idea behind the soul killers. It's one of the few things that can be really dangerous, no matter what level you are. You can't afford to be mindless around them. Lots of damage reduction will help, but isn't definitively reliable to save you in all cases.
The blunt removal of IM from oblivion knights was overkill. And it introduced a new bug. Yeah!
The skill should have been cloned, nerfed and then used within MonCurse. Maybe there is a problem with this. I forget all the details though. Curses can be tricky to deal with at times...items with +1 maiden or something can get wonkified...like i said i forget a lot of what I learned about these things.
Last Wish isn't totally unobtainable through trading within game...one of my best friends made one last season for his frenzy barb. Boy howdy was that character a whoot...he even disappeared and reappeared while swinging for some reason. (Not on his screen, only on others').
I've never used items sites, I've made the majority of the high end runewords at least once, just to see. I am a cheap bastage for most of the season until I hit a certain threshold of item saturation. Then with a huge base of good, tradeable things I sometimes jump into the higher runewords. Still, there are a lot of undervalued items, imo.
and for whomever it was that said the definition of a hr has changed over time...it never has. People just started trading lower runes like ist and mal for them. HR has, and will always be, "anything above the highest rune that can drop at hell difficulty forge quest...which is a gul" Therefore a HR is a vex or above. Period.|||

Yep I alwas liked the vipers/soul killers/dudes who cast IM, as they were a challenge. Hard as hell to beat, but I always managed it, solo. even yesterday I was playing around with my javazon in hell countess and I came across MANY light-immunes - but killed them all despite dieing a "few" times.. I learnt tactics and use them. It is hard and annoying, but asking for light immune nerfs would be defeatists. A bit like asking for IM to be removed instead of nerfed..
I didn't say Last wish was unobtainable, I just said I laughed! The runes required are laughable!
If I rushed chars, used a bot, used item sites, then I would get it soon. But as I dont, I need to erase LW as an option and get grief instead (Grief is widely seen as a better option anyway, but I wanted to try LW out, but if I were to get LW, I couldnt afford anything else!)

Q u o t e:
I'm talking about those little undead version of the stabby guys in Act III, found in the temples of Kurast and in the Durance of Hate.
In Nightmare difficulty, these guys can kill me in one or two hits! I'm a Frozen Orb/Fireball sorceress with about ~600 health with gear at level 60, and I'm using a Defense Merc from Act II. I've gotten to the point of firing off Orbs to feel out an area, but every time I hear their little clacking bones I'm thinking oh crap.
So what am I doing wrong, if anything? Why are they able to do so much damage per hit to me? At this point of the game, they are by far the most dangerous mob I've ever encountered.
In my opinion, you should just not try to kill them, and hurry on to Act IV. But if you do, beware, because they mostly travel in groups, and like others have said, their death is the thing that will probably kill you.
