Question about Beast Runeword

I'm considering using a Switch weapon for buffing a melee class. I know most people go with 'Call to Arms' runeword. Does 'Beast' work the same way? Can you use werebear and then swap back to your main weapons - and run around as a big bear??
I was searching all over for the answer, and it seems like its never even mentioned as a possiblity, which makes me think it doesn't work the same way CTA does.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?|||Werebear is a buff which applies its bonuses for a duration: weapons can be switched (or even removed entirely) and you remain a Werebear, in the same way as you could cast Battle Orders, switch weapons and still benefit from its bonuses.|||

Q u o t e:
Werebear is a buff which applies its bonuses for a duration: weapons can be switched (or even removed entirely) and you remain a Werebear, in the same way as you could cast Battle Orders, switch weapons and still benefit from its bonuses.

Tested and verified. I stand corrected.
I used a druid pelt granting +3 Werebear and a druid without any skills points in the shapeshift tree. Shifted to werebear, removed the helm and the druid stayed a wearbear as long as the skills stated duration was.
