WEIRDEST WAY TO LOSE ITEMS

Today I was deuling my friend in the river of flame and I died. When I clicked on my dead body I got all my items except for my shield and then I died again. So at this point there was one dead body that had a shield, the other body, had the rest of my items.
I saved and exited then rejoined that game, thinking that I would get all my items back like I usually do. I did not get my items back. Only got my shield back. Thats 4 years down the drain of constant playing to perfect my character's items.
Items lost value in high runes
ebotdz 402% - 15
Fort - 10
dracs - 1
treks - 1
verdungos - 1
arreats - 1
hoto - 5
hoto - 5
total loss = 39 high runes.
Please tell why this happened to me, was there some kind of glitch? is there any sort of compensation for this giant loss?

You answered yourself.
- You had at least two (2) corpses when you left the game.
- The game saves only one (1) corpse which is always the oldest corpse present.
- The saved corpse had your shield only.

Well you can try writing to Blizzard support that you want your duped stuff back. Good luck with that.
