Any tips?

This is kinda my second time playing Diablo two to a decent place other than just Blood Raven and not playing the character again but ive never beaten the game (going to try to this time at least on normal) and im going to get to Andariel (or however the name is spelled).
I think i know what i need to do but what level should i be (as a barb I'm guessing like 15 or something cause with my first character going against her i ended up dieing a lot and i think i was a bit low to face her?) and would getting all the poison resist i can get to drop help out a bit?
I've tried looking but i have found nothing really on it so if any one minds giveing me a few tips here?
|||For Normal Difficulty:
You should be able to dispatch Andariel between clvl 12 to 20. I play an Amazon Bow class and I'm usually around clvl 15 when I confront her. My Poison Resist is between 15 and 20%. I have a least one item that reduces Poison Duration by 25%, more if I can find or buy it. Check Charsi and Gheed often, for useful items. When I get to the stairs leading down to the Catacombs, Level 4, I TP back to town and buy a couple of Antidotes from Akara (if I haven't found some already), just in case I need them.
When you reach the Catacombs, Level 4, cast a Town Portal and dispatch the monsters in the first two rooms. Open the doors to Andy's Chamber and dispatch as many monsters as you can before advancing towards Andariel. If you run into trouble fighting Andy, fall back and use the TP to retreat to town to regroup and then try again. You shouldn't have much trouble on Normal Mode.

Justin Perusoe Darkwater|||As Justindarkwater said character level 12 and up is fine, the higher the easier.
You need to be aware that Andariel as the Act 1 End Boss deals two main damages types:
- ranged poison damage in both missile and spray form
- combined physical and poison damage in melee
So the best way to stand against her is
- up your hit points to 100+
- get as much poison resist and poison length reduce as possible.
Antidot potions are very helpful here which you can buy at Akara's shop plus a good bunch of heal potions aren't bad too.
The most effective way to fight her is any kind of fire, physical or magic damage. Yet Andariel won't fall with 1 or 2 hits since she has 1024 life in normal.|||Thank you all for the tips ill keep a look out for as much poison resist items i can find and work on getting to there.|||What Dr said - antidote potions are cheapest way to get some resists vs her plus using them for instant removal of poison. Take note that Andariel hates fire dmg as that is her worse resistance ( -50 on all difficulties). Put on some +fire dmg weapons and watch her die fast ;)|||Good advice from these guys.
Also note that if you drink an antidote potion BEFORE you are infected, it temporarily boosts your poison resist for a few minutes :)
so if you're too weak/too little poison res/length to kill her, just carry a bunch of antidotes and swig when you are healed to boost immunity. doing this I solo'd her at level 9 with standard gear at the start of the season.|||

Well, all of you might as well tell them that Thawing potions do the same for cold resistance, before they take on Duriel at the end of Act II.
Too bad you can't drink an exploding potion to give you fire res. LOL.

It was inferred :)
But of less use.. by the time you get to Duriel you should have cold res or at least a good party/good damage on you/your merc.. Andy's poison (and physical damage) is a bit much to handle at level 12-20 on some chars.
exploding potion - Haha!
