Last Wish

I don't have a lot of experience with the last wish but I have observed with my Zon that if you have life tap activated and something else like hit blinds target pops on the affected monsters, it knocks off the life tap. Now I haven't had much luck in getting life tap activated with my barb because there always seems to be hit blinds target popping up over their heads. If this is the case, it seems to me that the life tap feature on last wish is useless, or am I doing something wrong?|||Since Fade has a 6% chance of casting when your character is struck, and it has a 10% chance of casting Life Tap on striking, they are about even as far as chances to cast go, so if you're doing anything wrong, it can only be that you are getting struck more often than you are striking. Change your tactics/skills/gear to get hit less and to hit enemies more, and that will likely fix your problem. It's just about probabilities.|||Thanks for the reply, however the fade isn't the problem. It's that Hit bilnds target thing that happens most of the time. I don't see how that and lifetap can co-exist. I have yet to have lifetap appear.|||Hmm, well, sorry about that. I was confused about the likeness of Hit Blinds Target to a class skill. It is the Necromancer's Dim Vision curse to which it is likened (see http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic.shtml under "Hit Blinds Target"). Do you have any other gear, such as Darksight Helm, that may be casting Dim Vision? That one has a CTC on being struck, as well. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, if not. All I do know is that curses will overwrite curses (and shrine effects) as they occur, so something else should be casting to overwrite Life Tap. I'm not sure if HBT is processed exactly the same way as if it were the Dim Vision curse, but it seems it shoudn't, since there are items specifically with the CTC Dim Vision mod.
|||Only one curse can be activated on a target at any given time.
I do not like mixing any of the following: Lifetap, Amplify Damage, Decrepify, Dim Vision (Blind, Ravens), Terror (flee, Grim Ward), Lower Resist, and Iron Maiden. (I am fairly certain Battle Cry is essentially a curse as well, but I've never checked.)
If you are playing with friends, avoid having conflicting curse-like effects.
Lifetap essentially makes some builds invulnerable, so it should take priority on everything except Physical Immune monsters. Have your party adjust your equipment accordingly.
