Good class for a new player?

[:1]just wondering what a good class for anew player would be|||Although many would say "lite sorc so u can mf good, then hammerdin," I think the better way to play is based on how you prefer to play. There are, more or less, four types of playstyle:
Range: Bow Amazon or Sorceress. The bowa has a drawback if you haven't found a bow that does adequate damage, like Skystrike, for example (but there's this skill called Valkyrie, which if built properly, will help out immensely for the novice bowazon). The Sorceress winds up being difficult to play in Hell due to many monsters being immune to your main attack. Of course, the Sorceress has the perk for Normal and Nightmare of being able to hit Act Bosses quickly so you can farm gear for other characters when she's loaded down with magic find gear. I could also stick the Javazon in here because she's pretty much in the same boat as the Sorceress.
Melee: Paladin or Barbarian. These characters would need some work as the huge numbers of hit points make it difficult without some amount of Crushing Blow. This attribute, however, is available on many low items, such as the runewords Black and Strength (and some of the Unique items also feature this as an attribute). Cannot Be Frozen is also another necessary attribute by mid Nightmare, and getting your resistances built up so they are around 50% would make your characters viable with a few noteable exceptions: The Maggot Lair and the Arcane Sanctuary, if you plan to run solo.
Close Range Casting: The Hammerdin is often regarded as a game breaker., and for good reason. Even without a huge pile of skill boosters, he can still crank out nice area-of-effect damage, he just needs his basic skills built to a certain level. The other popular character for this style would be a Wind Druid, but until he hits level 50 or so, boss fights can be painful.
Minions: The Summoner Necromancer is often overlooked because he's slow moving. On the other hand, with a good investment in his Raise Skeleton and Skeleton Mastery skill, a point the rest of the tree, such as Summon Resist, Clay Golem and a few in Revive will give you a decent army to overcome foes even in Hell. Couple that up with a few points in Corpse Explosion and a point in your Curses as they become available so you can wind up with Amplify Damage, Life Tap, Decrepify and Lower Resist, you will overcome 99.9% of your opponents PvM. You can also pile on all your skill gear, summon your army, swap back to your magic find items and the remaining army will still be strong enough to overcome nearly all monsters.

Now, hopefully I haven't overwhelmed you, but I feel that rather than play what everyone else recommends, you'll enjoy this game the most if you choose a character that suits how you want to play. For some characters, however, you may want to wait until you find items adequate for those particular builds.|||On single player I used a Necromancer - Summoner my first time playing, then when LOD was released I tried out the Druid since he could summon minions also.

Well I'm not sure how it works but I think if you search for uber tristam bosses you won't find em either because they only spawn in battle.net. Must be that.|||Level 127, you say? It's interesting you should know his level in spite of the fact there is no official statistical information on him.|||Post nr 7

Short answer is on one PC, no.
Long answer : It'd be extremely handy to have both of your CD-keys on hand for each copy. Another way which is actually more productive than running between two rooms with two different PCs is to download Virtualization software, such as VMWare Player or Windows XP Mode if you have Windows 7. The speed isn't as nice performance-wise if you have an older PC, but for the sake of time efficiency it's faster. One other stipulation to this is that you must have install disks for each OS and their respective keys as well.|||

Each CD key can only login once into b.net. If your second installation tries to login while your first is already logged in and you see a message like "CD Key already in use by " you are out of luck.|||Yah it didn't work. Now I guess I need to find my other CD key.

Challenging PvM classes/builds

[:1]Hi,
I'm looking for some class and skill combo ideas that are challenging in PvM even with epic gear and high level.
Some ideas I have thought of are:
-Sorc with skills in all 3 trees.
-Barbarian with no synergies and points divided into several different attacks.
-Some sort of caster / physical paladin hybrid build like vengeance/foh or hammer/zeal
- Firebow / lightning javelin amazon
Anybody have any suggestions? I have no interest in PvP, I just want a PvM challenge that dosn't involve constantly pressing 1 button. I also want to return to Hell after completing it, and be presented with a challenge, even in full set gear like Tal Rasha or Nats.|||We at Baron's Bazaar have come up with many group challenges that involved things like getting as far as possible in HC with only starting gear, or limited spells (essentially saying you can't use the good ones!)
Good times!|||Use a random number generator to pick three skills, and you MUST take those to level 20 asap. The build will usually end up revolving around some of the less-frequently-used skills.
Spearazon (no lightning :-) )
Naked sorceress.
Barbarian who only uses items with white text (normal, not magic/rare/set unique).
Assassin who only uses one-of-a-kind items (no set/unique).
Bowbarian.
Paladin who only punches (so probably holy shock).
All I can think of (or remember from long ago) for now.|||Any build without CB. And try to do UT.|||Dragoon (aka Leap Attack Barbarian) I plan to try that one out one ladder to take on Diablo Clone as i'm too lazy to collect keys for UT.
Oramin's Henchidiot Challenge: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=694907|||My personal favorite has always been Holy Light paladin, maxxed for heal.
get faster cast speed and let your merc tank while you blast it with 400 point heals every .5 seconds

My sin

I was wondering if this could be a viable skill set to do most of the game content.
The idea is that shadow master is always with you and venom adds to the elemental dmg also possibly freeing up sockets to do other elemental dmg.
Of course the idea is to dual wield claws with lightning in one hand and cold in the other.
