[:1]Likely the most fun I had with a character was with a hybrid warcry/frenzy barbarian.
I figured that I would post it for the funsits.
Skills
20 warcry
20 battle cry
20 howl
20 taunt
1 iron skin, natural resistance, increased stamina, increased speed
1 battle command, shout
1 axe mastery
1 frenzy and prerequisites
rest to battle orders (no it is not maxed...oh noes)
The whole reason for this build was to utilize ampilify damage using two lacerators that were sitting in my stash (preferably ethereal, but it took me awhile to attain those)
The problem that you run into with this weapon, under normal circumstances, is the howl proc.
I thought a bit about it and settled on the idea that with a good source of stun, howl would not be much of an issue. That led me to warcry, especially since its damage is physical in nature.
You may wonder why the hell would you only use 1 pt in attack skills, and then have a nerfed warcry compared to a dedicated crier barb. The answer is simple really...I like to experiment. Plus with good management you can keep amplify damage up pretty well, negating some of that hit. Plus the advantage of removing physical immunities should not be taken so lightly. I have never been a big proponent of teleporting passed everything. I like to destroy the baddies in the way.
So now that you are laughing hysterically, or your interest is mildy peaked, here is the gear I chose.
2 (now eth) Lacerators
Metalgrid (resistances, and attack rating)
Upped Skin of the Vipermagi (FCR, resists, +1 allskills)
Demonhorn's Edge (only possible +3 all skill helm, some life steal, ias)
Gorerider Boots (crushing blow and deadly strike)
Nosferatu belt (slow, ias and lifesteal)
Lavagout gloves (enchant for attack rating, and some ias)
Ravenfrost (cannot be frozen and attack rating, +more from dex)
Rare ring with attack rating, life steal, and resist all (got one other res on top of it)
2 warcry charms
rest of charms are attack rating+life charms (anni and torch as well)
You may wonder why such a focus on attack rating stuff. Simple answer. 1 point put into attack skills. You need to make up a lot in that regard.
I chose to use a might merc with an Insight polearm due to the heavy mana cost of warcry, and I wanted at least some other boost to damage. Currently, the merc is also using Crown of Thieves Helm and a jeweled Gris armor. Not the best, but I had/have a slew of characters to maintain. Not every one can have it all.
Hope this gives somebody some measure of fun, even if it is to laugh for the rest of the day.
edit: moved it to gameplay section
Edit: Forgot to say that I also used 1 pt in double throw for the times that you either want a few to run away or in narrow chokes with oblivion knights...but I guess that is not needed any more...just abuse howl.
